Welcome to the University of Saskatchewan Language Centre (USLC)!
Established in 1995, the Language Centre offers three streams of academic English programming: full-time study for language proficiency in academic programs, short courses to improve and strengthen English language skills for professional and academic purposes, and intensive English programs for academic and community audiences.
Each of our quality programs are designed to promote student success and foster a positive student experience in the transition to post-secondary studies and to help students meet professional goals. All programs are designed with flexibility and accessibility in mind, delivered either in-person or as hybrid to reach all audiences and include some financial supports available.
The quality of our programs is maintained by our passionate team of instructors and administrators who have many years of experience in the English language learning environment and on our beautiful campus.

Sitting in the middle of the Canadian prairies is a very friendly community with bright blue skies and lots of sunshine -- Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!
The Language Centre began in 1995 with a small group of students looking to improve their English language skills. A few years later, USask began granting conditional acceptances to students who had not yet met the language requirement to study in degree programs. Since then, the Language Centre has grown and developed new classes to help international students adapt to and learn about the culture of the university. We focus more than just language!
Our teachers and staff are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. We have smaller class sizes to allow a lot of one-on-one interaction and many people to help with settling in, academic support, social events, and cultural adaptation.
Our focus is on the student experience and helping you to be the most successful student you can be.
