Welcome to the University of Saskatchewan Language Centre (USLC)!

Established in 1995, the USLC offers three streams of English programming: full-time academic English training, part-time English classes and short-term ESL programming for academic and community audiences.

Each of our quality programs are designed to promote student success and a positive student experience. Our programs introduce students to everything the university and its community has to offer and support students in the transition to university and adjusting to life in Canada by facilitating participation in many on-campus activities and providing settlement support.

The quality of our programs is delivered and maintained by our passionate team of instructors and administrators who have many years of experience in the ESL environment and on campus.

We are confident that your time at the Language Centre will provide the English training you require for your studies and help you create lasting friendships and community connections.

Our story...

Our community

Sitting in the middle of the Canadian prairies is a very friendly community with bright blue skies and lots of sunshine -- Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!

The Language Centre began in 1995 with a small group of students looking to improve their English language skills. A few years later, USask began granting conditional acceptances to students who had not yet met the language requirement to study in degree programs. Since then, the Language Centre has grown and developed new classes to help international students adapt to and learn about the culture of the university. We focus more than just language!

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. We have smaller class sizes to allow a lot of one-on-one interaction and many people to help with settling in, academic support, social events, and cultural adaptation.

Our focus is on the student experience and helping you to be the most successful student you can be.
