Land of Living Skies
The province of Saskatchewan is known as the "Land of Living Skies" because we have such a large, uninterrupted view of the sky which always seems to be alive. You can see various cloud formations, changing weather systems, or even the magnificient V-shaped flock of geese flying by. And these are just to name a few.
During the nighttime, especially in the winter season, something magical can be seen. Even from within the Saskatoon city limits, the sky can appear to be a slight green colour, which seems to be shimmering and dancing across the sky. Those are the aurora borealis, or the northern lights.
If you're seeking a little nighttime adventure to see this amazing phenomena, here are a couple resources to help you:

Health care in Saskatchewan
If you are studying with us, in-person, and you have a valid study permit, you are eligible to apply for a Saskatchewan health card. This card will help you access health care, free of charge (some restrictions apply), while you are in Canada.

Nutrien Winter Shines Festival
February 17 - 24, 2024
Nutrien WinterShines is Saskatoon's annual festival celebrating the winter season. It provides anyone in Saskatoon an opportunity to get and enjoy the winter. Many fun activities are available for you to enjoy, like Wagon Rides, Schlockey, Shinny, checking out the Fire Making Workshop, visit the petting zoo, and so much more! There is something for everyone of all ages!
So, if you're looking to experience the winter, check out the Nutrien WinterShines festival.
